Celebrating Earth Day

Creative Contractors has completed Florida's first "green" community center.  The 42,000 sq. ft., $8.4 million building has been submitted for Silver L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.  L.E.E.D. is a rigorous national standard developed by the
U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable design and construction. The architect is Collman & Karsky Architects, Tampa, FL.

The community center's energy efficient design and superior indoor air quality, coupled with its use of recycled and regional materials make it an excellent example of sustainable construction.  The Associated General Contractors of Greater Florida bestowed its prestigious Horizon Award to the project, and the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council awarded it the
"Future of the Region Award."

Creative Contractors' sustainability initiative is led by Josh Bomstein, a LEED Accredited Professional and current Vice-President of the Gulf Coast Chapter
of the U.S. Green Building Council.
