April 25, 2005 Creative Completes $57M Hospital Wing
Completed in April, the new nine-story, 286-bed tower (“B-Wing”) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center is a hallmark project for Creative Contractors. The 260,000 square foot building cost $57 million and was constructed in 32 months.
The building is curved to maximize the area available on the site which borders a parking garage (a previous project of Creative Contractors,) and the intent of the design of this tower was to make it feel more like a hotel or home than a hospital, with spacious, mostly private rooms. The kitchen, complete with 4,000 square feet of walk-in cooler/freezer space, provides food service for the entire 880-bed campus, and a spectacular servery provides cafeteria service for visitors and staff.
Since 1998, Creative has constructed over $100 million of work at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Florida's 5th largest hospital.
